Then we do agree; I think the syntax of your original reply above led me to believe you thought the banning of trees, etc. was trivial since they have nothing to do with the real meaning of Christmas....that such 'bannings' were merely a tempest in a teapot. Simple misunderstanding. God bless.
I thought that's probably what you meant. I don't like to see any Christmas 'trimmings' lost. They're a big part of my own Christmas as they are in most others. I LOVE a nice Christmas tree and all the decorations. I put mine on every year and many of them are antique blown glass or paper ornaments that I bought when I was an antique dealer many years ago. I often wonder who owned them. Most of them have many memories attached.
