The question is whether we will cure the patients cancer by killing the patient, or whether the patient will get a clue in time and choose to live. The patient is US.
Maybe so, but you wouldn't want to be flying an F-16 and have to go up against one of these things.
Thanks for the ping. The F-35 looks like an F-16 on steroids.
FEAR to operate can result in throwing feathers at the tumor like a shamin.. (your metaphor)..
We're agreeing - not operating is one way of killing the patient in this case, as the cancer metastasizes and overwhelms the body politic.
For attractive lines, the Sukhoi is hard to beat.
I was at Smithsonian museum the other day and they had this nice YF-35 (x-35?) there. I saw it and kinda fell in love with it. I guess it is gonna be the F-14 of 21st century
"I saw an F22 take off at Edwards a couple of months ago. I've seen F-4's, F-14's, 15's and 16's go...but the 22 was a new ball game in itsself. It shot straight up like a rocket...much faster than the others."
I saw an SR-71 take off from Kadena AFB back in 1969. It went on down the runway, angled up at about 70 degrees as it lifted off, then broke the sound barrier within about 15 seconds. Way too cool, amazing!! You can see one in Tucson at the Pima airplane museum; luckily I had my videocamera along when I encountered that sight.
If the Democrats get in, they'll do their best to kill the program. Presumably they feel we can wheel the Wright Flyer out of the Smithsonian Institution as our leading-edge air superiority fighter.
Had the F-35 been around in the 1940s, World War II would have lasted two days. Do the Germans on Monday, the Japanese on Tuesday, and take the rest of the week off.
Full spectrum bulbs are easy to find and electronic ballasts are nice too. The assembly area looks rather low tech. I do wonder what the sub floor visible behind the plane is for.
Its another plant floor. Injuneers are at work.
Funny, I heard a roar of engines but didn't see
anything (I work 5 miles from the LM plant).
That stealth buisness must really work!
Anyone look at the jpg photo close-up? Is there a good reason so many flags of other nations are on the side of this aircraft? Do they represent the counties that contributed to its manufacture? Just thought I would ask.
The US built this plane with the majority of development cost at nearly 300 billion dollars. The UK comes in second at around 2 billion. Its an American jet.
