The city should stop the special-events employee from working for them!
I know that reporting has been incompetent for the last couple of decades, but this one is clear enough!

A city official accompanied by a police officer caused a stir by silencing the carols on Tuesday night as Cohen signed autographs after a performance in Riverside, California.

What always makes me see red is that the names of these public bureaucrats paragons of judgement are never given in the story.
Is he/she a lawyer? Gay? what?
