MIRVs? Isn't that in violation of the START treaty? Time to MIRV-up our LGM-30 Minuteman ICBM force in response.
Meanwhile the US has it's head in the sand and continues to send capital and technology transfers to Russia and China.
Patsies we are.
That's what I was thinking.
Interesting that when we nullify a treaty, we announce our plans well in advance, as with ABM. When they do the same thing, they announce some sneaky little near fait accompli. What about the rest of START?
The Minuteman III have all been reduced to single warhead systems as of early 2001. No upgrade has been brought forward at this time.
Well, we said the ABM treaty was no longer valid since the USSR is gone, so they probably don't think the START treaty is valid either.
These treaties were why we retired the Peacekeeper missiles and are de-MIRVing the Minuteman III missiles.
YEAH thats clearly a violation of the start treaty. Well that’s a good idea to update the minuteman ICBM force to MIRV status and it would be better. Even so if the United States doesn’t then, they should reactivate the Peacekeeper ICBM missile on the grounds that russia has probably more then 500 Minuteman III ICBM’S then the U.S not to mention they have mobile ICBM’S which in the event of war would be much harder ro locate and destroy in the event of war.
