People whose kids were diagnosed 20 years ago have been hearing the "cure is right around the corner" stuff forever. I wonder how much these "reports" have to do with trying to increase donations for research.

As a parent of TWO type 1's, I hope this turns into something.

I have one type 1. My son. A couple of weeks ago my daughter, my cousin and I were messing around with my son's new monitor.

My daughter's BG was 198. We tested her a few times over the next few days and found that her fasting BG was between 108 and 140. It would shoot up to 180 - 200 about an hour after a meal, then go down again.

We have an appointment on the 27th. I'm hoping her BG has just been thrown off by teenager hormones and an operation she had two and a half months ago.

I don't know how I'd cope with two.
