No, America got its advantage through Europe´s bad luck of having had two world wars on its soil. No wonder the best skilled people of Europe chose to escape from this place.

European immigrants came to America long before the two world wars. They came here to escape religious persecution and the lack of hope in societies, which did not have class mobility. The US Constitution articulates the hopes and dreams of this new country. America is more than a country. It is an idea, which has attracted people from all over the globe.

Europe's "bad luck" was rooted in religious intolerance, communism, nazism, and socialsm. The individual has been sacrificed to the needs of the state.

Don´t be proud of your forefathers decisions, you cannot be proud of that!

That's a silly statement. Our forefathers are the ones who founded this country and provided us with the world's oldest democracy and a written Constitution, which has stood the test of time and provided us with the foundation of our country. American exceptionalism turned an undeveloped continent into the world's most advanced, powerful country on earth in less than 220 years. This was not happenstance or luck nor was it easy and without sacrifice.

You can just be proud for what you´ve accomplished and achieved in your lives. What are you going to say to people who had not the luck to live in such nice countries we live in? That they cannot be proud of their lives?

There is no doubt that we are fortunate by birth to be born into rich, wealthy countries, but each generation must continue to contribute to the progress of these "nice countries" or they will disappear as so many great civilizations have before. There is no guarantee that our future will just be a continuation of the present. Those who have "not had the luck to live in such nice countries" do have the ability to change their own societies. You have to earn your "luck."

It´s silly to say that you´re proud that your ancestors left Europe. It would be as silly as saying I were proud that my ancestors stayed here. But yes, it´s right that one must earn his luck.

If you look closely enough, you won´t deny any longer that America was not ahead of Europe in science, technology, sports, culture, etc. This advantage came after two world wars.
