I received a FRmail tonight from Freeper kayak regarding a health issue that her doctors have discovered. Some of you, apparently, are already aware of this. I DO have her permission to put this thread up. She will not be on here to respond as she's still working and will be starting treatments.
Anyway, from kayak....Several weeks ago as part of my routine annual physical I had a chest x-ray. When it came back showing some suspicious shadows, the doc ordered a CT scan which also showed the shadows. So last week I had a bronchoscopy and got the results on Monday.
I have lung cancer. The good news is that of the 2 kinds I have the least aggressive kind and it can usually be removed surgically. The bad news is that because of the location of the cancer it can't be gotten to surgically without doing damage to parts I need.
So I'm facing a regimen of chemo and radiation probably. Monday I have an appointment with an oncologist to begin planning how we're going to attack this thing.
Please PLEASE pray for kayak!!!
Dear Lord God, our hearts are heavy tonight with this news from kayak. She is a dear lady who loves you with all of her heart. Thank you for giving her so VERY many prayer warriors, thank you for giving her a WONDERFUL husband who has been nothing but 100% supportive of her.
Lord, I pray for a "Logan Miracle". Lord, please heal her body. Please guide the medical personnel who will be helping her through this. Please give her YOUR peace. Peace that passes all understanding.

Checking in real quickly, so I’m not able to respond to each of you wonderful people, but Mama and Daddy engaged Hospice last week; they’ve already taken over the meds, and are bringing in a more comfy bed for Mama on Monday. The folks from Hospice will be checking in weekly until more frequent visits are necessary.

Words fail me! How wonderful the memories of times we spent together in Charlotte. May the love of God and the mind of Christ be with you and in you in these difficult days.

Kay, and Herb, your lives have been examples of the love of Christ to many. How rich and how wonderful your love of God and your love to each other. I pray God’s wondrous peace will encompass and fill your hearts as you commune together.
Oh, the ravages wrought by sin, but, praise God, our eternal salvation rests upon our faith and wholehearted trust in “the gospel... by which you are saved... that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day, according to the scriptures...” [1Cor 15:1-4] Hallelujah! Christ is risen!
I know that you desire that this be your testimony to the world at this time... that God would be magnified and glorified whether in life or in death.
I love you both in the Lord.

How proud you must be to call this great lady your mother! She has enriched FR many times over and it would be a privilege for me to pray that she can live out her days without pain and surrounded with loving family and friends.
