To: Paleo Conservative
In the 18th or early 19th century this episode could have had a happy ending. Gregory would have challenged Snow to a duel. One of them would have won.

Question: If you had to duel and could choose any type of pistol (it would only have one cartridge, of course), which would you choose?

Duelling pistols were always smooth bore muzzle loaders usually a matched set so there were no cartridges. Back when Abraham Lincoln was challeneged to a duel, the weapon he chose was "broad swords". Of course that weapon would have given Lincoln a tremendous advantage due to his 6'4" height and correspondingly long arms. The challenger being much shorter, decided to abandon his challenge to a duel.
