How about "I'm sorry you think you heard what I said". Worked great when dealing with union grievances. Most never figure it out.

I can't look at or listen to David Gregory anymore without hearing him in that press conference last winter, after Cheney's hunting incident, saying, "My God, I've SHOT someone".
