You know that in order to be a devoted, serious muslim one must work for the establishment of Islamic "peace" via sharia law, right? And that Islam is more than a religion but is an all encompassing political/cultural/personal philosophy that mandates all must ultimately accept it without regard to personal freedom? That is an interesting characterization. If that what passes for knowledge of Islam, I'll take it as a compliment that you think I know very little.

That is a legit characterization shared by many scholars. All one must do is read the Koran and the other holy books of Islam and take it literally to reach that conclusion.
I take it at its word and do not attempt to rationalize around it. The philosophy espoused there has very serious implications. Frankly I cannot see how one could reach a much different conclusion.
