She then ran to the living room and found a masked Carson fighting with Jenkins on the floor. She fired several times, apparently grazing her boyfriend in the back and hitting Carson once in the back.
Carson got up, stumbled onto the front porch and fell dead. A handgun was found near his body. Jenkins was treated for his injuries at a local hospital, Kelly said. Stapleton was shaken but unharmed

A basketball star turned to home burglaries.
Went to a University and so stupid he decides to rob two 19 year old kids who are living together,and probably have little personal wealth other than the clothes on their backs.
Another example of giving an idiot a shot at an education because he can shove a ball in a hoop.

Looks like he chose the same way as Maurice Clarett did and he is in jail not dead.
All these people that we have been reading about lately and they used to be all these stars and into the community. What happened? What switched in their brain to make them commit atrocities?
At least they stopped his criminal career early. Not speaking from personal experience, but IMHO, I think when you get shot, you kind of have a different perspective on life. And that is probably the best that has ever happened to some of these criminals. Now the best thing that could ever happen is accepting Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
I am glad the couple were not hurt, however that young lady must feel really bad considering she just took a life and one more may die. Rightfully so, but it still must be a heavy burden to ear.

Well, my dislike of 9mm's aside, she was probably a little rattled, and that can affect anyone's aim. Being that it was probably her first firefight, I'd say she pulled it together nicely with the tools available. Being shot multiple times is a life altering event. Even if this guy survives, and isn't permanently injured somehow, let's just say between his dead pal and his swiss cheese abdomen, he's learned a valuable life lesson.
Obviously disappointed he didn't make the NBA, but he figured he could follow their lead otherwise even if he couldn't play basketball.

If that boy does not get that girl a spectacular Christmas present then he needs to be smacked around. This story should be a workers compensation alert as the crooks suffered an all too rare but frequently fatal occupational injury - lead poisoning.
