Netanyahu wants Iran president tried for genocide at the Hague
By Mazal Mualem, Haaretz Correspondent
Likud chair MK Benjamin Netanyahu has summoned about 70 foreign diplomats stationed in Israel to a meeting next Tuesday, at which he will urge them to end their complacency and join Israel in an effort to halt Iran's nuclear program, which he says is aimed at genocide of the Jews.
The meeting is to be the first event in an international public relations campaign. It will include a proposal to file a complaint in the International Court of Justice against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for war crimes, and his plans to commit genocide will be presented.
The initiative will be presented by MK Danny Naveh (Likud) and Dore Gold, a former Israeli ambassador to the UN, both of whom flew to the U.S. this week for a series of meetings to promote the idea.
Netanyahu's independent campaign is expected to embarrass the Prime Minister's Office and the Foreign Ministry, since it expresses a public lack of faith in the state's public relations policy on the Iran issue.
In private conversations, Netanyahu has claimed that Israel's public relations policy has failed because it has not led to organized international action, such as significant economic sanctions, against Iran.

"We must cry Gevalt before the entire world," Netanyahu said recently. "In 1938, Hitler didn't say he wanted to destroy [the Jews]; Ahmadinejad is saying clearly that this is his intention, and we aren't even shouting. At least call it a crime against humanity. We must make the world see that the issue here is a program for genocide."
Dr you may be intersting in this
Well one thing that I predict is that this stunt will not be pursued into litigation.
I'm appalled that with the stacks being the extermination of millions of people, Torie dismisses an appeal to world conscience and world memory to save a people as a "publicity stunt"!

I call them as I see them. Having said that, I favor Israel taking out Iran's incipient nukes if the US won't. The idea of Iran having nukes is intolerable to me. Maybe the stunt is clever and will matter somehow. I doubt it.
He is a kidnapper and a murderer and probably more we don't know about. The genocide will come though in the future. No doubt in my mind.
Agree. By all means wait until the nutter actually commits genocide before we bother with any publicity.
I think this is both brilliant and necessary.
Most cases of genocide fail as a matter of proof because they lack the mode of intention. That has been made crystal clear in this case.
Moreover, it is an active ongoing process. The Palestinian terror attacks and the recent rocket attacks of Hezbollah are explicit indications of Iran's efforts to slaughter Jews. Nasrallah clarified that he did not want to kill Arab non-Jews in the recent spate of proxy genocide offered by Iran.
Israel has become and Arab concentration camp for Jews. It is licensed to operate by the United Nations. It is long over due to take all means necessary to stop Iran and its anti-semtic allies.
Name one case in court that failed because the genocide actually effected lacked mens rea, as was an "accident."
Oh, you are so right. It is so harmful. Publicity, courts: bad.
Ping
That was meant as a complement. I admire effective keyboard warriors.
I'm puzzled by the fact that Ahmadinejad seems to be able to play Israel like a fiddle. First Iran-supported Hizbollah embarrassed the Israeli military last summer and now Ahmadinejad's silly mind games (i.e., holocaust conferences, big talk about annihilating Israel) seem to be working also. Both the Iranians and Israelis know that Iran would be we wiped out if they attacked Israel and still Israeli politicians won't just ignore this joker. I don't get it. Or is this about internal Israeli politics?
The UN has been rewarding the evil ones. Who knows what will happen next?
