No, it's not because of a media created image. Obama's act is studied and practiced. Sure, he has to have a natural talent, but he works the audience like a con man revival minister. He's a regular Marjoe clone.
Have to disagree with you here--it IS due to the media making him a star. There are many, many Republican and conservative speakers who work a crowd like a pro, and the media calls them charlatans.
