Clinton-Obama Ticket Stirs Fear in GOP [Ralph alert]
US News (barf!) ^ | Dec 11, 2006 | Paul Bedard

The possibility that a potential Democratic presidential primary matchup between Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama could lead to a Clinton-Obama ticket is raising concerns in GOP circles that it might be unbeatable.

While Democratic strategists are more skeptical of the success of a ticket composed of two minorities, some Republican advisers to the White House and leading 2008 hopefuls Sen. John McCain and Rudy Giuliani see the ticket as an easy winner built on the enthusiasm it would generate in Democratic circles.

Their theory is that Clinton would stand a good chance to pick up the states that Sen. John Kerry won in 2004. While not enough to win the election on her own, the addition of Obama would help push closely divided states like Ohio over into the Democratic column, thereby giving the Clinton-Obama ticket the White House.

"Listen, we've got some lackluster people running on our side, and that is exactly the kind of ticket that would get their side in a fever pitch," said a Bush ally. Democrats aren't so sure it would work, though, because of Clinton's high negatives and Obama's short résumé and race. But the Bush adviser said those factors are actually winners: Obama could help soften Clinton's image and bring more African-American voters to the ticket as well as independents seeking real and symbolic change.

Two minorities?

Okay, Osamma is black so that makes him a minority.

But why is The Hildabeaste considered a minority?

Oh, wait, that's right, in our society those who are sociopathic, narcissistic, arrogant, sanctimonious, and unctuous are in the minority (thank GOD!).

In politics, a woman is a minority because there has never been a woman vp or pres and they are a minority in scotus, the house and senate and the cabinet, and governorships and state legislatures and state supreme courts and even sheriff, county commissioners and dog catchers.

Lies. The most frightening ticket is Bayh/Richardson.

Any Southern conservative governor can defeat Hitlery.

Thats because the MSM/democrats will charge anyone not voting for these 2 liberal boneheads with being a rascist or sexist, thus goading and guilt tripping their way to victory. Thats the way they think.

True.

Too bad none of them are running and we instead will have to choose between RINO (McCain/Giuliani) and RINO lite (Romney).

My choice is None of the Above

Paging Mark Sanford and Haley Barbour, please pick up the white courtesy phone - your party (and country) needs you.

"The possibility that a potential Democratic presidential primary matchup between Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama could lead to a Clinton-Obama ticket is raising concerns in GOP circles that it might be unbeatable."

So basically they have their base taken care of. Anyone to the right of Lenin would never vote this ticket and anyone to the left of Lenin hates Blacks about as much as the Klan does and wouldn't vote for Obama either.

Richardson is a more viable candidate because Hispanics have been moving more to the right. Someone mentioned Bahr/Richardson. That might be the ticket although Bah may not have the recognition of maybe a Vilsack.

from a Bush adviser ? fire the guy.

First,it would take a million whacks from a meat tenderizer to soften Hillary up.

How can the Rats get any more AA voters ? they got 'em all now. and Independents usually break to libs.

Osama Obama is a minority because he is an African-American.

Hillary is a minority because she is a Gynological-American.

The numbers don't lie.

I would not even go as far as calling Obama a minority. Yes he is black (i.e. not an African American) but he is also half white. Why do we insist on calling these folks minorities? he is a Liberal democrat (I believe the 16th most in congress) who would try to ride the coattails of the first woman president (if she got elected).

Personally, I do not think Hil is a great choice for the Dems, she is despised in many circles. Both are not very noteworthy when it comes to their achievements, neither have ever been in charge of a major budget. They would mainly run on name recognition alone. Not even the Libs are that misguided (well.... maybe I will defer that comment).

Of course the left would hold the fact that he is black and she is a woman in the headlines for the first four years of Hil's administration, but what else would they have. It amazes me, the double-standard for the "minorities" when they are Leftist minorities vs. conservative minorities.

It is hard to believe she would pick him. First of all he would overshadow her because he stands out so much. Not to mention Obama is more charismatic and a far better speaker than Hillary. Countless Dems would probably prefer to see him at the head of the ticket.
