I Wonder What Would Jesus Do?
I wonder what would Jesus do, Early on Christmas morning? Would He run downstairs to check the tree, Or look at stockings hanging?
Would Jesus have stayed up at night, To listen for flying sleighbells, Or gone around a-caroling, In the neighborhood where He dwells?
Would Jesus have bought presents, Or made them by Himself? Would He have time to stand in line, For things set on some shelf?
Oh, I wonder what would Jesus do, When Christmas came around?
I wonder what would Jesus do, When Christmas time was nearing, Would he have an artificial tree, Or cut one from a clearing?
Would He decorate with silver bells, With ribbons all festooning, The halls and doorways of a house, To welcome Christmas morning?
Would Jesus join in singing with, The radio thats playing, Between the ads for sales at stores, As Christmas time is coming?
Oh, I wonder what would Jesus do, As Christmas comes around?
Would Jesus look with fondness on, The crêche out in the square? And do you think hed smile to see, A Santa standing there?
Id like to think that Jesus would, Enjoy the seasons spirit, And if He saw some sadness on, A face Hed try to cheer it.
A Christmas wish for happiness, For Jesus seems becoming, But I wonder just what Hed hope for, To unwrap Christmas morning?
Oh, I wonder what would Jesus do, As Christmas was aborning?. Tell me what do you think the Lord would do, When He comes down Christmas morning?
