A truck-driving student is in custody in Boston after raising suspicions when he wasnt interested in learning how to back up his rig.
WLVI-TV (Ch. 56) reported last night that the would-be trucker is a 28-year-old Muslim from India and had overstayed his visa. An investigation is under way to see whether there is any connection between his unusual behavior and a terrorism plot. Federal authorities were alerted by instructors at the Nationwide Tractor Trailer Driving School in Smithfield, R.I., WLVI reported.
The student was described as a resident of New York, with drivers licenses from New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island.
Every indicator was there, R.I. State Police Major Steve ODonnell told WLVI. Any one of these things alone is fine, but four or five together .
While a loaded semi-truck would make a fine weapon its hard for this ex-farm boy to understand that youd need a lesson on how to drive it forward.
I wonder what will become of this story?
That's subjected to "a few rants". Not "few rants".
If someone actually did that, and the ACLU screamed torture, we wouldn't have a leg to stand on. That would be torture. You're sick to suggest such a thing, even to a terrorist.
/sarcastic rant, if it's needed
Muslims shouldn't be welcome to the US. However, the Bush administration, in its infinite wisdom (NOT) has decided to allow 20, 000 more muslim "students" to enter the US each year for "education."
Touche' BUMP!
Why not? He might like it. You never know.

I remember it well. Lucy got one Hell of a ride while trying to make dinner. LOL!
Good catch. But remember...this is FR. Not DU. We entertain a better class of clientele.
After that, I leave it to the pros. Those folks can do some amazing things.
That story is really something, thanks for the fyi.
I did a search and found a link from the DOJ:

Sorry for the delay in answering your question. This wasn't
the only town in MO to have CDL testing site shut down, I believe Sikeston and Columbia also. I don't know if there
are any charges brought in the other towns. This went on over several years, and I suppose most of the drivers sent
from this trucking school did pass the test. Now they all
have to be retested. It was covered in St.Louis Post Dispatch and Sprinfield TV stations. The only cable news on it that I saw was Steve Brown on Fox News. It will come to trial this spring I think.
Well at least it is going to trial. I try not to be racial against people from other countries but they don't know how to drive as it is usually. My daughter married a guy from India and he can't drive. He is used to being on the other side of the road. I don't think they ought to be driving trucks or rigs until they have driven without accidents and traffic tickets for at least 5 yrs. Maybe more. Have a very Merry Christmas and thanks for the reply. ~~Pandora~~
