I loved my dolls as a little girl. I didn't really do the brushing, dressing thing, but I created whole stories and fantasy lands with them.

My mom got my brother some toy guns, but then decided maybe she shouldn't get him something so violent, so she took them all away and gave him a drumset.

The very next day he was using the symbals as sheilds and the drumsticks as guns, so she decided instead of fighting it she would get him a whole arsenal of toy guns. Smart lady!

My daughter is 13 and still loves dolls (right now she is in an "American Girl" phase, my son is 11 and likes to play with his "action figures" still. There was some study done that shows that boys will make other objects into toy guns. I guess its in their genes.
