Glad to hear sales are back up.
I love to look at Barbies when I go to Target a toy store. Over the last few years, the Barbie section has become much smaller.

My experience with four kids is that's hard-wired into girls and boys. You don't need to teach it and can't un-teach it. True, but you can sure confuse the hell outta them.

True, but you can sure confuse the hell outta them. I agree, you can really mess a kid up trying force them to act against their nature.

That poor boy in Mass. that the parents enrolled in school as "transgendered" is a pretty good example. He's gonna have a lot to overcome as he grows up.

My daughter is 13 and still loves dolls (right now she is in an "American Girl" phase, my son is 11 and likes to play with his "action figures" still. There was some study done that shows that boys will make other objects into toy guns. I guess its in their genes.

There was some study done that shows that boys will make other objects into toy guns. I guess its in their genes. It's comforting, in a way, that boys will naturally do this. I remember when we would play my little brother was always there "shooting" the bad guys. Always made me feel a little safe, even if it wasn't real.

If you ever thought Barbies popularity weigned, you have not been in a store that sells toys for children...
The PINK isle is as stocked as ever.
Barbie probably took a little bit of a hit from the BRATZ fad... a fad far far worse than anything Barbie has ever done.... the day I'd let my little girl bring thug/hip hop lifestyle into my home will be the day I die. Now that that fad is over, Barbie will get the kids back again.
