The Ohio Senate has passed House Bill 347 (reforming concealed carry, standardizing Ohio gun laws statewide) by a vote of 21 to 12, thus overriding Governor Taft's veto.
Thanks.
I travel to Ohio, Pa. a few times a year.
Now if W. Va. would reciprocate w/ other States beside Va. my trips would be much safer.
de nada... be safe!
First sitting Governor of Ohio convicted of a crime.
Lowest approval rating.
First veto overridden since the mid-70s.
He's however running out of time since his term is almost over. He was term limited, so he wasn't eligible to run for reelection.
Don't count your chickens yet! Some jerk judge may issue an injunction preventing this new law from taking effect. Alternatively, local "authorities" could just command their police to arrest innocents anyway, based on their old laws. That has actually happenned here in Texas, where the DA in Harris County (Houston) refuses to recognize the State's pre-emption, and ordered people legally travelling with guns to be arrested anyway.
