I love seeing big-government Republicans defeated as much as Dems. Too bad that means we have Speaker of the House Pelosi.

Just in time, since the Ohio Supreme Court upheld Cincy's ban on "assault weapons" on December 8 on the basis that the existing law did not preempt local law. http://suealtmeyer.typepad.com/cleveland_law_library_web/2006/12/cincinnati_assa.html Of concern is the comment by the prosecutor that the Ohio Supreme Court ruling would help in challenges to the proposed Sub. H.B. 347, if it becomes law, as it has.

In Alaska the Governor signed a bill recognizing carry with out a permit as a citizens right under the Constitution - sorta like the 2nd means something.

Otherwise, Frank was a total jerk.

The Democrats' parting gift to worthless Taft. As predicted.

Any bets on how soon we hear from the gun grabbers that this will result in a "bloodbath" in Ohio?

"Why doesn't Taft do everyone a favor and resign?"He contributed greatly to Republicans' several losses in 2006 election races.

The prosecutor's argument doesn't seem very strong. The new law expressly overrides any local ordinances, so I think it will be quite an uphill climb for these cities to enforce any contrary rules.

I figure 15-20 mins. All they use is a form letter and just fill in the respective state/city that it applies to...

Taft wanted to stick it to the State of Ohio one last time, but instead he got the shaft! Way to go Ohio Senate!

Now if they can override everything Strickland does to destroy the state, we'll be just fine......

If they were criminals, do you think a previous ban on CCW would have stopped them?

It is my opinion that the primary cause of our losses in November was Robert Taft.

I only wish that Blackwell could have succeeded him to start fixing up this state.......
