True, as far as it goes. But I can't see the Euro or any other fiat doing better than the US.

That's why I only have about 30% outside the dollar.

I guess my point is that perhaps a third of that should be gold or gold-levered(stocks,etc).

Let's face it - it wouldn't kill you to have doubled your money over the last year in that asset class, like so many gold investors, including moi!

I only wish 100% of my portfolio had been metals stocks - dadburn natgas and oil stocks are going nowhere, and I had to pick the one Chinese telecom play that has gone down over the last year!

So I'm only up 55% on a 12 month basis as of today. Still, diversification is wise.
