Toni's an author and a friend of my wife's.

This is one of the funniest Christmas stories I've ever read. Someone needs to write this as a scene in a Christmas movie, or a TV show.

Nothing like a bit of humor...

I had to dress up as Winnie the Pooh oncefor my daughters birthday ....some kids loved me but my daughter(age 2 at the time) was very afraid

Excellent! I laughed out loud.

I realized many years ago that while Santa in the abstract is OK with small children in person he is terrifying. I was sent up on the roof as a teenager by the adults to HoHoHo down the chimney and ask if all the children were snug in their beds. It scared the ever loving crap out of them.

Plus, have you ever watched children with the mall Santas? There is a good percentage of them who want nothing to do with him.

I was one of five kids and my parents have pictures of each of us at one time or another crying on Santa's lap.

The Mall Santa scene in A Christmas Story is classic.

Really funny story!

I'm assuming that Santa's 95 mph hard candy pitch was his change-up.

I am SOOO glad no one came into my office in the past 5 minutes. If the snot running down my nose, or the tears streaming down my face didn't give my slacker-ness away, nothing would have.

I am SOO sharing this story, true or not, it's just funny.

even years later, that they “better be good because Santa was watching”… man, they’d straighten right the hell up. And I don’t think a single one of them touched hard candy for years.

ROTFL!! I see what you mean, OT!

I'm an idiot. Seen = scene. Note to self - don't post while on a conference call.
