Found the story:
Aasheq Nabi was shot dead in Nowshera district, 30km (18 miles) from Peshawar, after reports he had burnt a copy of the Koran.
News of the alleged desecration spread rapidly, bringing people onto the streets and calls for his arrest.
Correspondents say it is the first time in several years that a blasphemy case in Pakistan has involved mob violence.
'Chased'
Police said on Wednesday they had raided Mr Nabi's house in the Pabbi area, but the 400-strong mob found him first.
Witnesses say he was chased through fields and sought refuge up a tree before being shot dead by someone in the crowd.
Police said Mr Nabi, who was in his 40s, had been in hiding since Monday.
"We registered a case against him on Tuesday, but he was shot dead today before we could arrest him," local police official Abdul Razzaq told the Associated Press.
He said Mr Nabi's family had been among those who reported him to police.
Police have yet to make any arrests in connection with the lynching.

There is no expectation in the islamic world of self control, accountability, or self discipline. Muslims expect to be able to do anything or say whatever they want and then just walk away from it. What ever they do is always someone else's fault. I think these young men should be treated exactly as they would be treated in Saudi if they had done this to a Koran.

Doing this to a Bible is the equivalent of a cross burning. Its designed to defame and denigrate an entire faith or a race of people in a vile and hateful way. Kids don't come up with this kind of thing on their own - they need to be taught this kind of insanity.
I'm quite sure that if some Jewish kid were caught pissing on a koran there would be rioting in the streets all over the third world. And Alqaeda would call for a jihad against the West for it and kill a few more nuns in some unrelated country like they did with the Popes quote a few months ago.
But I will give the father credit for yanking the kids of our this 'islamic' school to send a message. He probably has yet to get anywhere near the truth as to what they are being taught about 'other faiths' at the school.
