This is actually no surprise. For 6 years the Dems have considered Bush the enemy to such a degree that they are unable to identify the basic elements of real enemy.
I'm so glad they are in charge.

Democrats New Intelligence Chairman Needs a Crash Course on al Qaeda It will probably come crashing through his window, shortly after being hijacked.

It's republicans and democrats alike. I'd be willing to bet that most of the people in congress would be unable to answer most of those questions.

It's not just them, though. The Republicans also appear clueless in this regard.

Now that we know without a doubt that al Qaeda is and has been in Iraq...except half the democratic party...I highly doubt they will ever admit these are the same people responsible 9/11. I grieve for this nation.

Demagogues don't care about Sunni or Shi'a, as long as Patsy Murray's favorite Al Qaeda day care centers are built.... they're called Madrassas, and yes they are busily rearing new generations of terrorists.

It begs the question, of course: How can the Intelligence Committee do effective oversight of U.S. Spy agencies when its leaders dont know basics about the battlefield? Very good question

As a Dad whose son just returned (again!) from Iraq I'd like to say that the Congress makes me sick to my stomach.. These dimwitted willfully ignorant jerks are going to
oversee our intelligence services?
God have mercy on us all, especially our sons and daughters at the mercy of these Congressional boobs.

There are maybe two other threads on it, too. Just sayin'. Pelosi could have named the rightful heir to the Chair, Jane Harman. I wonder if it was just spite that caused her to not do so.
Instead, we have a dangerous dunce in a sensitive position.
Of course, there are so-called "conservatives" who don't place importance on who the real enemy is either. They contributed to Republican losses and Democrat wins, due to their own selfish, pet "issues."

Not only will Stretch Pelosi head the most corrupt congress in history, it will also qualify as the most intellectually challenged (read STUPID) as well.
The "leadership" of the GOP had best work on extracting their collective "brain housing groups from their arses" or we will be in some very deep kimchee come 2008.
