Al Gore's response has to be the most laughable and pathetic... he says Bill Clinton's rape was a mistake?

...and adding that his "faith tradition" informs him that whatever Bill did, we should hate the sin and love the sinner. Shameless. (Bill would be the sinner, I think, but you never know with wacky Al he might be referring to Ms. Brodderick).

Wacky Al again, like all liberals, mock the Christian Faith, when they can invoke it for their own advantage.
Does anyone really believe the party of abortion, euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research and now rape care what Jesus thinks?

Digression:

Never really understood that phrase too much, though, if we are to love the sinner then who loves the victim of the sin? and how are we supposed to love the sinner, anyway, by letting him get away with his sin?

It sounds as if they are saying:

"Oh, don't worry about that rape, mr. rapist, we love you, and you the victim or you the rapist's accusers, if you don't "love" the rapist, you're a heathen."

It seems like some kind of clever trick of falsely separating a person from their sin and accusing those who don't buy into such nonsense as being the "bad guys". If you didn't sin you wouldn't be called a sinner. "Love the sinner, hate the sin" formula, IMHO, just destroys accountability, responsibility, justice and it destroys any idea of mercy too. Doesn't sound Christian to me.

Nietzche once said Jutice is love with eyes wide open. He got it wrong, of course, Mercy is love with eyes wide open. You don't pretend you do not see how awful the sin or the sinner is or excuse it. Justice doesn't do that and without Justice you can't have or show Mercy.

Only Jesus can pull off Mercy and Justice at the same time, ie. his death on the Cross. We on the other hand must procure Justice, punishment first, then Mercy can be shown.

Mercy without Justice is not Mercy, it's a mockery of Justice and Mercy.

I'll stop ranting, Al's invocation of his "faith tradition" to exonerate Bill-the-rapist disgusted me.

excellent.

Gore's response disgusted me, too.

hillary is even less nimble. We must insinuate ourselves into her prescreened audiences and spring this stuff on her. And not just about the rape....

I’m glad you asked these questions. I can’t say that I have the answers, but here is my take on it. Just my opinion, so take it easy on the flames.

First, there is no scripture in the Bible that specifically states “hate the sin, love the sinner.” It is nothing more than a mantra that has been repeated over and over and over again by those who want us to accept non-mainstream values such as homosexuality, abortion, etc., until most people actually believe it really did come from the Bible.

Christ did teach us that we should love our neighbors as well as our enemies as God loves us. We are also taught that God hates sin. But we are not taught to tolerate sin. We are to forgive and love those have LEFT sin by repenting of that sin and accepting any consequences here on earth (such as prison) for committing those sins. Frankly, we are not to associate at all with those who openly and unrepentently commit sin.

Al Bore implying we should forgive Bubba of something that "happened a long time ago” is a bunch of BS. Bubba has not publicly confessed to nor has he repented of this sin as far as I know.

The world would have to slip off its axis before Bubba actually has a sincere change of heart, repents and openly confesses to the rapes, and freely accepts the punishment of such a crime. But I'll not hold my breath waiting for that day.
