This mentality is everywhere in politics, - "So what if he stole, raped, robbed and killed? Look at all the libraries, nursing homes and hospitals he built! Look at all the wonderful programs and new laws he supported! He spent his entire political life helping the poor, is it really so bad that he feasted on their flesh from time to time in his basement!?"
