Ed Colloff, San Mateo
The Democrats need to nominate an electable alternative to the Republicans. Hillary is popular on the coasts, but she cannot win a majority with her gender and her baggage. For the good of the Democratic Party and the United States, she should not run.
Evie Groch, El Cerrito
All qualified candidates should run for president, especially women. Hillary has proven herself capable of effectively holding an elected office and serving well. Her running sends a message about who should be in the government arena as a major player. Besides, isn't it about time to envision referring to Bill Clinton as the first gentleman?
Lauren Coodley, Napa
She should be able to run, just like any American who can raise millions of dollars. She won't win, because she's the wrong woman, someone who is widely disliked by many interest groups and especially by swing voters. Voters need to choose someone who is strongly likable to the average person -- and Hillary isn't.
Sanford Chandler, San Francisco
She should definitely run. It's time we realized that a woman may be just what this country needs. She's bright, compassionate, eloquent and she sure knows her way around the White House.
Stephen Hew, Berkeley
I'm not sure she has the draw that Obama does, and Democrats need as much personality as they can get in order to defeat the Republican machine.
Abra White, San Francisco
America is not yet ready for Hillary. Since we're in this chaotic war, I think we could use someone with military experience to guide us out securely. She would not be a good leader in these times.

"Besides, isn't it about time to envision referring to Bill Clinton as the first gentleman?"
There isn't any posible scenario that could get me to refer to Bill as a "gentleman"!
x42 referred to as the "first gentleman"????? He ain't no gentleman. He hasn't the first iota of an idea what it means to be a "gentleman". He's trailer trash, though he is accepted in certain circles, and brings in big bucks for the democrat party. A pig is a pig even when it's been bathed and primped for company, so is the expresident of the United States, still an uncouth, loud mouth, arrogant, camera seeking trailer trash.
Or to the swing voters. Or most of those who are opposed to her.
Unless somebody's got the videotape, this is a story that will be relegated to the fringe forever.
I will say this again Hillary will be the next potus period
Careful what you say, she may have xeroxed your FBI files and stored away for later retribution.
The Obama hype is directed by the Clinton team for sure.. This is setting the stage for strengthening the ticket.

"Bill and Belindas excellent adventure"
But Clintons new, er, friendship isnt helping his wifes presidential aims, writes eric reguly
Back at the begining of 2004, I had two bottles of champagne that I was saving. One I popped the cork on November 3, 2004, the day after President Bush was reelected to a second term. The other I am saving for the day that it is assured that Hillary is not going to be the next president. Whether she is defeated in the general election, the democrat primaries, or the very unlikely scenario that she decides not to run. That second bottle pops the day that she is no longer in the running to be president.
I've heard that, but I just wonder, if GWH Bush doesn't love this yucky fellow in an appostolic way?? Like a son??? hmmmm
