For a long time I didn't comment on Mary Cheney out of respect for her family and the fact that she kept a low profile and didn't seem to make her homosexuality an issue. She seems to be abandoning that position.

I am not sure it was the daughter that outed the situation, as much as the parents...until they announced the baby, I was unaware...so, I say to myself, why would the parents issue the announcement....I suggest that it was the parent's, feeling that they needed to demonstrate that they were modern, and accepting of the lesbian world...I have to wonder if it was the mother, who initiated the annoucement
