While the Colorado GOP has had a couple of pretty bad years, the Centennial State is nothing like California. Whites still constitute a solid majority of the population (unlike CA), and socially the state is still pretty conservative (even rejected pro-gay domestic partner benefit referendum). I think the CO GOP will rebound eventually.
Unfortunately, I think Colorado was ripe for a lot of Northern California liberals to move there to "save the forests" like they've been doing in NoCal for so many years.
