Maybe not, but maybe he could have at least emulated the Great Communicator and NOT have people disappear by killing them, but at least jailing them, hm? The tactics he employed were reprehensible under any circumstance.

For crying out loud, IT WAS A CIVIL WAR. In a "kill or be killed" situation you don't get to observe the niceties of a more gentile community. Study our own Civil War in the Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, and Indian Territory area and you will find it wasn't much different than what went on in Chile in the early 1970's.
