Why doesn't Lott respond by saying the UN Security Council, just within the last two weeks, voted to continue the Coalition presence in Iraq, at the request of the Iraqi government? Why is this never ever brought up? Or did I dream this? I thought I read about it, but can't recall the source. Does anyone have any info on this???

Lott, now 65 years old, is beginning his 33rd YEAR in Congress. There oughta be a law that anyone elected to Congress for more than 2 terms should have to have a job in something else just to keep current on the rest of Americans' lives.

One reason Lott didn't bring it up, my guess, is because he doesn't know that.

I have become more and more aware of how LITTLE Congresscritters are of the things we assume they know about.

That thread yesterday, about the interview done with Silvestre Reyes, the new Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee...sealed that opinion for me.

The interviewer asked Reyes simple questions about the conflict in Iraq..the differences between Sunnis and Shiites, and Reyes had NO CLUE about the Middle East politically, religiously, tribally....NONE.

Also...I have heard in interviews that a LOT of these Congresscritters do NOT read much..not on the internet..and certainly not the legislation they are voting on.
