I hope you get to see the panel on FNS later on today. It sure seemed to be more like past panels with spirited debate. Even old Juan seemed to come unglued and made little sense in his responses.

Correct but that does not mean the British are pulling out totally.

Also if things do not go as planned I fully expect some will return

Did I hear Brownback laugh at himself because he 'was carrying the conservative mantle' on this panel? (I heard this on audio only)

I'll tell what I HEARD: ...he was apologizing for being conservative, which tells me all I need to know about him.

Hope you find Sambucol. It's an immune booster too.

A freeper recommended it to us and we're on the third bottle. Take it every single day for maintenance and then every few hours if we feel something coming on.

Well considering that Rummy spends his time talking to soldiers and the ISG spent it time talking to "Journalists" it is no surprise that Rummy has a much better grasp of the situation then any of the Senile 10.

In the same speech he also said

"We need to be clear that handover does not mean withdrawal."

Careful there. Stoli and Ludes is not a safe combination... .............. watching these folks is that depressing, I guess it's not a bad way to go...

LOL! I hear you................ I guess I was speaking in metaphors.

Sounds like you know your stuff (on the drug level). Congrats! Glad you're still with us!

:-)

By the way ........ I would have been glad to drop a half of a little "window pane" and to have had a few beers to stay somewhat steady this morning ........ but this 'Sunday Morning Talkshow' lineup was a major BARF ALERT!

I just settled on about eight beers..... but who is counting?

Juan has gotten so very much criticism on his book that he may feel he needs to re-establish his street creds.

On the Wall Street Journal show last night, there was a segment about how the Hezbollah are being accused of war crimes, by hiding with civilians..and making them sheilds in the Lebanon war...

But, I was really disappointed with one of the regular panelists, Phsstpok may know the name...

who decided that the best idea re: Iraq, would be to redeploy the troops to KUWAIT, so that we would be close in times of need. (he must be channeling Murtha or Kerry)...

When Paul Gigot mentioned that that plan would really put our embedded military in a dangerous position, because they could be used as hostages if there is not US military around to be back up, the guy said, well, Kuwait isn't that far...

OY>>>>>>>.

Phsstpok, I hope you can supply me the name of who made that suggestion..it is driving me nuts.

Responding to your post that was made between your prior and my just prior ...

Thanks for the acknowledgement. In a world where what you thought happeneed would have happened -- that pratical honest plain common sense would have shut down the Oil-for-Food after 9/11, we wouldn't be were we are now, having to jaw-bone down that beast of inanity of a report from the blue ribbon panel.

WABC media reporting that Rumsfeld went to Iraq but NO mention at all of the response of the troops. Can't have that now can we!

"Last May [2003], shortly after the fall of Saddam's regime, the U.N. Security Council voted to end the Oil-for-Food program and gave the U.N. Secretariat six months to tie-up loose ends before handing over any outstanding import contracts to the U.S. Coalition Provisional Authority. With Saddam's regime gone as a contracting party, the U.N. began a frenzied process of "renegotiating" billions in contracts, basically winnowing out the graft component that Oil-for-Food had previously approved."

Among those consulted by Baker's group were Leslie Gelb, Thomas Ricks, and Ken Pollack.

I googled their bios and found that Gelb worked in the State and Defense departments in the 60's and authored a book entitled THE IRONY OF VIETNAM.

Ricks is a Washington Post reporter covering the Pentagon and is a Pulitzer winner who has covered the military in the Middle East...so far, okay...but he also authored a book on the "fragile moral fiber that binds our armed forces".

Pollard is w/the Brookings Institute, a ME expert, and is pro-Iraqi war.

I don't know why George Will, Bill Kristol, or Sandy Berger...much less Anthony Lake or Thomas Friedman had credentials for a consultation.

The military wasn't consulted...but, SANDY BURGLER was!!!

But, good news---Clifford May was consulted, and he told Pres. Bush at a Christmas party the other night, that if HE were the POTUS, he would throw the ISG report in the trash!!! LOL

No worries. We've got GREAT candidates. Romney and Guiliani could both be fabulous leaders. Some would add McCain because he's not afraid to act. (although usually wrongly, imho.)
