I am a conservative, and I do not give a damn what people do in the privacy of their home.

I simply do not believe homosexual unions should be granted the same status in government and society as heterosexual unions.

How damned complicated is that?

I believe whatever a couple does in their own bedroom as long as its consensual, is their business. That doesn't mean I think I think homosexuality is a good thing; I view it as moral depravity and inability to attain the highest form of love Man is capable of: the union with his opposite. So sue me for being judgmental. I don't yield on my moral convictions just because the Left is aghast over my stand that principle matters more than contrived consensus for its own sake.

Not complicated at all. The state has interest in people reproducing, and the stability that comes from multi-generational families. That's why the state offers certain benefits to the members of these groups. To put homosexual unions on the same level ignores the historical and social importance of marriage.

It is simple. It is uncomplicated, and of course, the opposition believes that this is an attack on their sexuality and discriminatory. It's not discriminatory - every one of them can go out and marry someone of an opposite sex, none of them are forbidden from this.
