They don't need charitable donations...the Fed. Govt. will be taking care.
FEMA has been ordered to continue paying for housing..and last night, a bill passed with mucho more $$$$$ for Katrina damage.
I understand, but what I had more in mind was the outpouring of compassion that I saw from Texans, especially Houstonians, who received the New Orleans evacuees with open arms.
I volunteered at the Astrodome relief center for Katrina victims, but I wouldn't participate again knowing what I know now about the political culture in New Orleans judging by this election. I doubt I'm the only Texan who will react this way to the reelection of a crook like William Jefferson (D-LA).
This is a real black eye for Louisiana and the Democrats.
