AK's are not known for sterling accuracy, but I can assure you that with decent sights (something they don't come with) you can hit a pie plate at 100 yards every time with a bad AK, and you can hit a coke can at that distance with a good AK. Occasional misses are allowed for bifocals ;)

I agree. I've owned an AK-47 for 25 years and I can hit water filled milk jugs at 150 meters all day long. Now if my Ruger Mini-30 could only do that.

At one point I didn't bother to clean my AK for five years. I never got a hiccup. Mine also has a very light trigger pull. However, I do think that getting an accurate AK-47 with a decent trigger is sometimes just a matter of luck. I've seen a lot of scope mounts advertised for AK-47s and I've always wondered if they really work at all. I'm more of an iron sight guy myself.
