Because Syria WANTS to help us, and they promise to be good... This time... However, our astute president will follow along & not necessary implement these suggestions but not bemurch them giving the outward appearance that they are acceptable. Real leaders would tell them to shove it. Little pieces of political correctness, get along, talk to our enemies for no purpose - in others words moderates - become road kill as GW has become.
