I got a better idea. Everyone that pays taxes should be allowed to vote. Therefore, let's have Tax day on Election Day. When citizens show up at the tax collectors office to write out the check for what they owe (no taking it out a little every pay day like it's done now), they get their ballot.
A pipe dream, I know...

'Got an even better idea. If you can name ten anti-American celebrities or journalists and can't name ten US Presidents or recite The Preamble to the Constitution or The Gettysburg Address, you should not be allowed to vote.
Just to on the safe side, every election cycle should have different educational requirements.
But, not really, I just get pissed when I hear liberal coworkers and/or "friends" quoting talking points one can hear in any George Clooney or Micheal Moore diatribe.

The first voters were landowners and business owners, those who had a steak (sic) in government.
