I don't see where you are coming from at all. The South has produced winning candidates forever! It is really hard for us to trust Northerners.
George H.W. Bush was from Houston, but was not southern and did not come across that way to the rest of the country. Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon were from California. Gerald Ford (who nearly won in '76) was from Michigan.
Yes, Democrats have had luck with such stellar southerners as LBJ, Carter, and Clinton, and of course George W. Bush won, but given recent events Bush appears to be the straw that broke the camel's back for the rest of the country's appetite for southern-style governing. A southerner may win as a Democrat in 2008, but we can not win with a southern candidate in the foreseeable future. We need to nominate a midwesterner, westerner, or Yankee.
You echo my thoughts 100%. There is no debate with these liberals...they are coming out of the woodwork and trying to divide the Republicans in 2008. Some are even paid Giuliani staffers.
