Poll: California voters still like the power they have at the ballot box, express optimism for bipartisanship in Sacramento (full title)
A new PPIC poll finds that 69 percent of the voters who participated in the Nov. 7 election are satisfied with the initiative process. This despite the fact that the ballot contained 13 measures
* Immigration is rated the top issue (20 percent of voters), followed by the economy (14 percent) and education (13 percent)
* Fifty-eight percent of voters surveyed say they expect the governor and Legislature will be able to work together to accomplish a lot next year.
* Sixty percent of voters approve of the job Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is doing, while only 36 percent approve of the job the Legislature is doing.

... Eat my tagline, grunt!!! ... Your tagline is okay with me. Its consistent, 100%'ers are typically pretty thick (dim, stupid, slow, mentally handicapped) and your posts support that observation.

It seems that lots of folks go around callin' themselves conservative these days, no matter how divisive and disruptive they are.

Funny, all you ever have is your blather. You're a value to the herd however, real conservatives don't want to have anything to do with someone as stupid as you, so you're appropriately divisive.

Great post, FO and we all know the ones on FR who are the DICCs.

I agree with Lurker on this completely. You're too dim to realize that I encourage unity and discourage division. Its the ilk who want to disrupt and divide.

* Immigration is rated the top issue (20 percent of voters)I congratulated the handful of believers who have spoken their minds on the insidious effects of unregulated immigration.
5 years ago they were a voice in the wilderness. Today 20% of Californians have listened and a quick review of other concerns voiced on this survey are directly rooted in the consequences of illegal immigration over the past 30 years.
There is more work to do. Californians need to be educated that that the perceived problems with jobs, schools, health care, crime, housing, energy, population and traffic are all directly tied to illegal immigration. Take away the consequences of illegal immigration, today about 40% of the state's population, and most of the problems go away almost instantly.
Illegal immigration is the 400 lb. gorilla that consumes a majority of the state's energies and resources, the blunt weapon that our political class is wielding with indifference to the state's future.

With all due respect, and agreeing with your sentiment, a person can call themselves whatever they want to.
Neither you, nor I, nor Jim Robinson*, nor Gallup, nor the GOP, nor the DUmmmies is the final arbitrator of what is a 'conservative'. It can be a "I know it when I see it", it could be a religious criteria (there are people on this board who are of the opinion that only a evangelical Christian or an Orthodox Jew can be a true conservative), or some fiscal, firearms, abortion or War On Terror litmus test, but, as someone who has worked on polls and their analysis I honestly think that it has to be one of the hardest words in the English language to pin down.

My own experience has been that the so-called "moderates", who sometimes masquerade as pretend-conservatives, detest being called what they are--liberals--and will shriek to the high heavens they are "moderates".
