Elections are based on getting the most votes. From the last election 32% of voters identified themselves as conservatives. That will never win an election. 22% identified themselves as liberal. That will never win either. 47% identified themelves as either moderate, independent, middle of the road etc.
The GOP will have to appeal to the majority of voters in order to win. It is not rocket science.

I think one of the most stupid things Mccain has done is to work with Ted Kennedy on a immigration bill supporting amnesty. For someone who is ambitious and wants to lead the nation, he should have thought more about and thats my personal opinion.
Having said that, if Mccain wins the primaries to become the Republican nomineee, he will get my vote as he is still fairly conservative on many fiscal, 2nd amendment and social issues.

Nothing in the middle of the road but a yellow line and dead skunks
Sad that the nexus of the campaign comes down to how best to bambozzle this group
