All 12 dealers named in the new suit sold a gun to a team of undercover investigators, who wore hidden cameras during a sting operation. Am I missing the 'crime' here?

Am I missing the 'crime' here?No, they are trying to obtain evidence for a civil suit. Is it legal? I don't know. IIRC, Bar Barr is counter suing for one dealer in Georgia who was in the first batch that NYC attacked with lawsuits.

Yes, the crime is the out of state cop misrepresenting his status for the purpose of buying a gun.
Those guys are toast if they ever go anywhere else than New York for the rest of their lives.
