Well mining the roads is not possible. See that is the problem with Counter Insurgency. A lot of normal civilian traffic is carried on along those roads. That would be like trying to mine every road within 10 miles of the US-Canadian border while still allowing regular civilian traffic.

It's from the Simpsons television show. Willie the Scottish (elementary school) groundskeeper used it. In the episode it appeared in, about 10 years ago, the teachers went on strike, and the non-faculty had to teach. Willie was teaching the French class. He finally broke down, and referred to the French as "Cheese-eatin' Surrender Monkeys"!
