The military delivered a spectacular and historic victory, it is the politicians that have brought us defeat.

The ISG is the death knell of the war. It's now about "peace with honor"

Keep deluding yourselves. I was a huge supporter of the WOT and the Iraq War. But now it's about a withdrawl. The ISG guarantees it. Either Bush does it, or the Dems will when they have all three houses...

Meanwhile good American boys die while this plays out. Not worth one more life or limb. Face reality guys.

What makes you think that Bush is any more impelled to act on the ISG's recommendations than he was to the 9/11 Commission's?

While I do agree that the entire population of Iraq is not worthy of the loss of one of our GI's, we are defending freedom and the American way of life there. Those are worth fighting and dying for.

I guess all the libs forget this quote from President John F. Kennedy, "Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty."

One part of the ISG report that proved to me it was a POS report was when one of their recommendations was for the US to give the Golan Heights back to Syria as if it's ours to give back to them.

I hope you're wrong. The battle for Iraq has divided America like nothing has since the Vietnam War, and that hasn't helped matters. But Iraq is only one part of the WOT. Should we leave Iraq, the Islamofascists aren't just going to stop fighting. Any sign of weakness from the US will be viewed by the terrorists as a victory of sorts. OTOH, Bush has to come up with a "new way" in Iraq. Both Bush and Blair said as much in their press conference today. Staying the course is no longer an option. We'll see if Bush and Blair offer anything new over the next 1-1/2 months, leading up to the Presidents 2007 SOTUS. Bush`s pre-holiday speech to the American people may hold some answers. We shall see.
