British India had the largest number of men under arms (upwards of 2 million) in India's history until then. These men fought bravely in different theaters from Europe to Indo-China and have more than redeemed themselves.

As for India being a big bully, surprise, surprise....seems like every big country has perception problems w.r.t. relatively smaller neighbors - be it India, Indonesia, China, the US or Aus..

I know I won't be able to convince you since your 'facts' seem coming from sources that have an anti-India agenda. Go ahead and indulge yourself, I guess.

I wouldn't be much surprised if TMK37 turned out to be Pakistani (or similar: read Chinese). Some of the 'facts' he/she is spewing out are simply ludicrous! I wonder which nation he/she would advocate to get closer to the US ....maybe Pakistan (a global hellhole of Jihadism ....among other things).

The truth is India will continue to gain prominence in the region, and as one of the more important US allies in the future. In a world full of gelded/conquered/blind nations, there are very few countries that are both capable and willing to provide act not only as a buffer but also as an ally. India is one of a small number of such countries, and it also has the most potential (by far).

This is something that some, however, do not particularly like. For instance India's 'friends' across the border (hint: the paramount center of Jihadi ideology in the world, the only Moslem nation that has nuclear weaponry, and one that has the volatile mix of a hihgly radicalized section of its populace coupled with leadership that has the Sword of Damocles constantly hanging over their heads ....i.e., a veritable time bomb that will one day prove to be America's greatest problem).
