Interesting perspective. I disagree, of course but nevertheless....
Ask yourself this - If any country could become a 'natural' US ally in the coming decades, which one would it be? An aging Japan? A semi-izlamic Eurabia? A super-power aspirant China? Apart from the Anglo spheric allies - UK, Australia and Canada who else is around?
Israel (too small), South Africa (too untested), Russia (Huh?), Brazil?
I would vote for India. I believe that soon (within 10 yrs) Europe will erupt in civil war (Balkans times 10), Russia and China will help setup izlamo-monsters in regimes such as Syria, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi and their proxies Hezbollah, Hamas, the Mahdi army, the lashkar-e-Toiba, the jamaat-e-islami etc to play them off against the free world. India guarding the Indian ocean's shipping lanes and keeping Pakistan, Bangladesh and Indonesia (together home to 50% of the world's muzlim population) in their own interest will be invaluable as an ally.
Have a nice day.
P.S.
Read mark Steyn's 'America Alone' for a glimpse into the future and lemme know what you think.
