(CNSNews.com) - A conservative group said Wednesday the bipartisan Iraq Study Group had compiled its report on policy options for Iraq after spending a "limited time" in that country. "The principals of the group never once stepped foot in the one region in Iraq where things are actually going well - in the northern region of Iraqi Kurdistan," said Move America Forward chairwoman Melanie Morgan. "It is slipshod work to search for a path to success when you ignore those who have already found a formula for such success."
Morgan also said the ISG's suggestion that Iran and Syria could be "helpful allies" was "absurd." "It is more reminiscent of Neville Chamberlain's capitulation to Hitler than Ronald Reagan's resolute stand against Communism during the Cold War," she said.

Thanks for the BUMP. I think it's important to keep stressing that these people never left the Green Zone, ignored the area of success in Iraq, but then did their backslapping bureaucratic/politician arrogance routine today.
Listening to Alan Simpson boast that they avoided words like "winning" or "succeeding" to avoid controversy made me sick. What's the point of the group if not to find a path to winning or succeeding?

We expected nothing better from this group and I don't see why we're surprised.
Baker is now and has always been an arabist.

This was a pure political document with no substance at all.
Clearly each side got their little licks in and feel sooo good about themselves.

Now that everyone agrees we should just leave iraq, maybe everyone's attention will shift to the holidays and the bowl games and our soldiers can get some serious fighting done.

The POTUS has no plans of listening to anything these clowns have to say. He must for public appearances appear sincere and interested.
The only thing that really bothers me is the rest of the world and Islamofacist killers, watch these clowns, and figure they can easily get their agendas accomplished in time.
Baker and Hamilton and crew are at best a circus crew containing some clowns and some that sweep elephant droppings, and a barker or two.
I cannot help but wonder how much money was spent on this ISG activity. It is obvioulsy a total waste.

After it's all over, maybe the coach will take everybody to Chucky Cheese for pizza and soft drinks.

I told a friend about the makeup of this "blue ribbon panel", he was speechless. A group of souless lawyers, spineless politicians and corrupt bussiness leaders are going to tell the CIC and the Armed Forces how to fight a war. I hope the President relegates their report to the dustbin of history.

"It is slipshod work to search for a path to success when you ignore those who have already found a formula for such success." The Western Chamberlains and Bleeding Heart Progressives were just looking for a formula. The act of trying is all that really matters to them. Let these virtual leaders have their moment in the sun while they pat each other on the back. The rest of us will continue living in reality and will continue to illuminate Kurdistan as the self-governing success that it represents.

I *so* want to believe that, but if it's true, then why has W become so close to Baker as of late, and appoint Bakers buddy Gates as secdef?

GWB usually wins in the end and I`m sure that nothing is gong to change very much. Notice we haven`t heard much from Cheney. He`s still there and he`s giving the POTUS the right advise.

Perhaps for the illusion that he (POTUS) wants to allow a bi-partisan commission to help.
The POTUS has already negated any notions of the US talking directy with the Iranians. Likewise with the Syrians. What can we say to the eye doctor and his goons at this point that has not been enumerated many times before.
By the way. I am still waiting to read one report about Syria finally carrying out the promise they made to Powell to finally shut down the known terrorist camps in Syria such as those that surrounded the city of Allepo. How long has it been now.
At any rate. I have to hit the sack. Do have a great upcoming day.
