Lee Hamilton and James Baker explain the purpose of the Iraq Study Group to journalists at a press conference held at USIP.The Iraq Study Group is a bipartisan group of prominent Americans supported by four premier institutions. It is led by co-chairs James A. Baker, III, the nations 61st Secretary of State and Honorary Chairman of the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy at Rice University, and Lee H. Hamilton, former Congressman and Director of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
The other members of the study group include: Lawrence S. Eagleburger, Vernon E. Jordan, Jr., Edwin Meese III , Sandra Day O'Connor, Leon E. Panetta, William J. Perry, Charles S. Robb, and Alan K. Simpson."
All of these old coots are on the Council of Foreign Relations except Paneta, Meese and Perry.

Fitting post. I guess it's better, in the words of Sandra Day O'Connor, to "feel" we're being bipartisan than to clearly see the mortal threat facing our country by radical Islamicism.
The composition of the Panel speaks for itself. Mostly Carter/Bush I retreads specializing in appeasement, which they prefer to call "diplomacy". A pack of losers determined to perfume the cut & run pig.
