Pres. Bush is my guy. I've supported him when others wouldn't. I special-pleaded for him on immigration (I was proven wrong by events.) I supported Harriet Miers as a judicial choice. (She's still a possibility if STevens kicks the bucket.)
However, it is time to move on. We live in a constitutional republic that REQUIRES the changing of loyalty at least every 8 years. One guy is on his way out; I must find another person with conservative, Christian values to support in hopes that he'll continue to advance a moral, wholesome world instead of a socialist, licentious one. Pres. Bush will still have the veto, and he'll have my support.
However, the candidate I support will probably be saying significantly different things than is the President.
I listened to Gates say today that we shouldn't attack Syria, Iran, etc. Might as well have put William Cohen back in place. Then we can send the FBI out after Al Qaeda.
The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. (Proverbs 21:1 KJV)
