'Scuse me... that would be "the everybody does it" defense... and that doesn't work when you hold yourself out as purer than pure and the victim of a conspiracy perpetrated by your enemies... no, this lays it right back at your feet. Don't try to change the subject.
This isn't about anybody else, Newt, Bush, Cheney or the Man in the Moon. This is about MCDC and DF.
Did Keyes' orgs ever get fined when you worked for him?
What this is also about, and tactfully unstated in your post, is leadership - or lack thereof. The quote Mr. Seper failed to get was Dr. Keyes', "No Comment", or an explanation as to when he is going to clean house, fix his organization and assure the public that no organization he is ultimately responsible for will ever be forced to sign an agreement with these statements in it again:
The Aug. 18 "agreement and order," signed by Declaration Foundation Executive Director Mary Parker Lewis, a top Minuteman adviser, acknowledged that the charity made false statements in seeking to solicit donations, failed to properly administer money it had collected, and withheld documents sought as part of an "investigative subpoena."

Well, EV has a point. If the man who holds himself as the "Moral Light" for other conservatives admits that his organization has "made false statements in seeking to solicit donations, failed to properly administer money it had collected, and withheld documents sought as part of an 'investigative subpoena,'" then what must the "less moral" conservatives be doing? ;-)
IMO, this is another blow for conservatism, especially after all the recent Congressional scandals.
