FROM THE SENATE Hearing on Robert Gates
The Senate Armed Services Cmte. holds an open hearing on the nom- ination of Robert Gates to replace Donald Rumsfeld as Sec. of De- fense. CIA director from 1991-93 under Presidents Bush & Clinton, Gates is currently President of Texas A&M University. Senators are expected to call for a new Iraq strategy during the hearing.

This link goes to a website -scroll down to page 7 - which itemizes the many projects completed (more that 2600) and underway (more than 600) in Iraq. Its map should complement Dio's map of Iran, because it shows Lots of little green dots signifying "DOD projects" all along the Iraq-Iran border plus some along the Syria and Jordan borders. Since it is .pdf format, I do not know how to reproduce the map here, but I hope someone will do it.I know the size of the images aren't quite large enough to read, but it does give an idea of the scope of projects in Iraq.
